Art News

OLPH School

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome back to the start of another great school year at OLPH. The children will be challenged, motivated, and excited with their accomplishments and new experiences this year both academically and artistically.

Within our art curriculum, the students will continue to learn about various international cultures and their art works. New materials and techniques will be explored. Also, numerous periods of artistic history and the styles and art works of various artists will be studied.

As before, if anyone would care to make any donations of "junk" materials to the art room, we are always looking for the following items: paper towel and wrapping paper rolls, styrofoam trays of various sizes, empty coffee cans, Cool Whip and assorted, plastic containers, yarn in assorted colors, textures, and thicknesses to be used for weavings and crafts, and lastly, small pieces, of wood, cork, or something sturdy to be used as sculptural bases.

A special reminder to the 3rd graders: Please begin saving paper towel rolls and wrapping paper rolls for and art project which will be done in the beginning of November. You may bring them into the art room. Please put your name on each if you want your own tube for the project.

If anyone would like to make donations of paper towels and sanitary wipes, we are always in dire need of these items for each lesson since we always enjoy "getting down and getting dirty".

As always, thank you for your support and generosity. I am looking forward to working with the children this year again. We learn, create, and have fun together.

Thank you,

Ms. J. Villani
