Welcome back students!

This week we are working on safety review and we have a county safety quiz on Friday.

We will start Chapter 1 at the end of the week.

Students have a workbook for Science this year and they have also written down the online access to the Physical Science book.

I encourage them to use this resource because it will read the chapter to them, has practice quizzes etc.

In the next week I will be setting up my distribution e-mails, so you will be hearing from me 2-3 times a week regarding our class.  If you do not receive an e-mail from me, please feel free to e-mail me, so I have you in the system. falco@fultonschools.org.

Thanks, looking forward to a great year!

GA Studies 3rd period:

We returned the mid-terms today. Some students were dismayed at their essay grade. I read to the class an example of an excellent essay. All essays should include at least an introduction, body (that answers the question(s) asked) and a conclusion to wrap up their thoughts. Many students are not writing an introduction or conclusion paragraph, or they are writing in first person instead of third person. Many time we see “Now I will tell you about…..” or “I hope you enjoyed my essay.” Please note that Marie and I are here for writing help along with Mrs. Herdina or Ms. Hall anytime. We are preparing them for their 8th grade Writing Assessment which they will need to pass. This assessment takes place in January. Please encourage your child to come in for help if they are struggling with Essay Writing.

This week we are instructing the students on early colonial times and the first 13 colonies. No upcoming tests or quizzes as of yet. I will let you know, but it will most likely be next week. Thanks, and have a great week! Jen Falco
