The first is the listening where you will hear a dialogue between Marc and Caroline and will have to answer five multiple choice questions about the dialogue. The dialogue is in French, the questions are in English. In the second section, you will have to write the appropriate INFINITIVE to complete each sentence. Ex. You will see: je ne veux pas ___________ au tennis. You would write jouer. There are five of those. In the next section, you will have to write sentences about what you like and don't like to do. Ex. J'aime parler français. Je n'aime pas jouer aux jeux vidéo. There are three of those. In the next section, you will be given pictures of eight body parts which you will have to match with their French names. In the last section, you will be given eight more pictures of body parts, but this time you will have to write the name of the body part along with the definite article in French. Example: You see a picture of a heart. You would write le coeur. There will be one or two extra credit questions. A demain! a jeudi! 10/4/11 We briefly reviewed how to tell time, with expressions du matin, de l'apres-midi, du soir, ..et quart, ..et demie,... moins le quart, etc. We worked on two worksheets with analog clocks, as these will appear on the quiz. If you feel insecure in telling time in French, you should finish and review the worksheets and review the textbook p. 56 and following. We also reviewed how to say something is at a specific time and the 24 hour clock. Homework: Workbook p.44 exercise 1.4 activities 2 and 3 (some may have done 3 already). 10/3/11. Homework- workbook p. 15 8/23/11- Today we took our first quiz and we sang a song. There is no homework. 8/22/11- Today we reviewed for tomorrow's quiz. We did a speaking activity with the alphabet, we went over the vocabulary sheet, we reviewed all three review sheets. The quiz tomorrow consists of a listening section focusing on how people are feeling (There are 5.) The next section has four questions on nationality. You will have to pick out the appropriate flag for the nationality that you hear. The third section has 15 letters of the alphabet that you will hear and have to identify. The fourth section has three personal questions for you to answer in complete sentence in French. The fifth section will give you five number that will be spelled out for you and you will have to write the numeral (Ex. You will see cinquante-trois and you would write 53 on your answer sheet). We worked on a worksheet about French words used in English. There is no homework. 8/15/11- Today we reviewed our greetings and accents and learned the alphabet. We did several oral activities. We listened to the Vidéo-scène on p.14. We went over the vocabulary and the Note Culturelle on p. 15 and didd the activities on p. 16 orally. Homework- pick your French name and be prepared to spell it in French. 8/12/11- Today we reviewed the greetings that we learned yesterday and added a few new ones.
