Hi,

    Just wanted to let you know we are still talking about Solids and Liquids in Science. We are working on short vowels and closed syllables in phonics.We learned about the silent e making the first vowel long. We continue to learn about the number of syllables in a word and alphabetical order. We  learned ay and ai vowel teams. This week we have learning about ee, and ea vowel teams.  We will have our first VoWac test on Wed. and our spelling list will be words from that test. We are continuing to learn about place value to the tens place and adding two digit numbers. We learned how to round to the nearest 10 and ordinal numbers. Our bait this month is on  money.  We have been skip counting forward and backward.We are learning about tally tables and pictographs. We have been learning addition strategies and have covered counting up, doubles and doubles +1, and making tens with a ten frame and today how to add three numbers. 

We have been talking about pilgrims and American Indians.

You have probably heard our aide, Donnie, is battling a serious illness. If your child would like to help contribute coins for her benefit. They may bring them to school and the proceeds will be given to her to help defray her costs.    Our class is making an Angel wreath to add to the raffle items to be distributed at our music concert.
