Week of 11/17-11/21
Congrats to our student of the week: Madison McCauley
Here is the information you need to help your child prepare for the field trip on Friday. This went home yesterday in their Tuesday Newsday.:
Dear Parents, November 17th, 2008
As you know, our Water Rocks field trip is this Friday, November 21st. The children must arrive and meet in the school cafeteria at 6:00am. The bus will leave promptly at 6:30am and will not wait for anyone. If for some reason your child can’t make it due to illness or other reasons, please call me at 972-974-2401. Also, please keep my cell phone number on you in case you need us for any reason.
Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Children will come to school wearing a long sleeved shirt and will be given their colored team shirt when they walk in the cafeteria. They will put this shirt on over their long sleeved shirt. We will be doing a lot of walking, so be sure your child is wearing comfortable shoes. Flip flops are not allowed! If your child brings a coat or sweater, please be sure it has your child’s name on it. Also, we strongly encourage you to buy a disposable camera and NOT allow your child to bring their own personal camera. Again, it is important that you label the camera in case it gets lost.
Children are not allowed to bring back packs, electronics, or cell phones.
** Here is a list of things your child needs to bring Friday morning:
Small snacks for the bus (Education in Action will provide animal cookies and pretzels)
2 drinks for lunch and dinner (nothing over 17 ounces)
Packed Dinner should be in provided insulated sack (items in sack should be disposable)
We will be back between 7:45-8:15pm. Please be on time to pick up your child. The children will be tired and ready to go home… so will we! J
There will be a phone tree in place in case we are running late. We will call the room moms who will then go down through the class list to call parents.
Again, please call me if you need anything, 972-974-2401. The cell phone number for Education in Action is 817-714-2134.
Thanks!!
The Fifth Grade Team

Pet Help: As you can guess, caring for classroom pets is an expense. If you are out and about, and come across Rabbit food or bedding and would love to donate it to our classroom, Oreo and Nibbles would be soooo happy! :) Also, we are always in need of hand sanitizer, especially as we get into flu season, and just as we need to take care of the flu, the kids want their bellies taken care of.
McCauley, Hernandez and Skarjune parents have been drawn to attend our Water Rocks field trip. Training will be November 12th at 3:15 in the library.
Please be sure to sign up for Schoolnotes to notify you when it has been updated so you can be aware of upcoming assignments and homework.
