What's Buzzing In K-B Week of May 10,2010 **Mrs. Gina and I would like to wish all of our wonderful Kindergarten families a fun and restful summer break. Thank you all for being so generous during Teacher Appreciation week! **Please find the First Grade packet in your child's binder on Wednesday. This packet is for your child to complete this summer in preparation for first grade. Please do not return it until your child begins first grade. This is for his/her first grade teacher's use only. **When your child finishes his/her Math Workbook, please send it to school for a certificate of completion and a free dress day on May 12th. Your child must have a certificate in order to receive free dress. Field Day-Thursday May 13th from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. All parents are invited to join us on the front parking lot of MBS. Free Dress for students. Please have students wear shorts of proper length and tennis shoes. No spaghetti straps. Children are to come to school at the regular time on Field Day. Parents may accompany children and sign them out at 11:00 when Field Day is over. Graduation Day-Friday May 14th at 9:30 a.m. Students come to school at the usual time. If your child is using one of the school costumes, please return it to my classroom after the program. The program is in St. Ursula Hall with a short reception following the program. All students go home at the end of the program. REMINDER-Even if your child is wearing a costume for the program, everyone must wear church clothes in case you want to take pictures after the program. **Please sign in at the office before coming to our classroom for any reason. All visitors to our campus must have a visitors pass. This is mandated by our Child Protection Policy. Parents, please help us make your child more independent in order to prepare them for first grade. One way you can help is to only send things in your child's lunch that he/she can open without any help. This will make things go more smoothly in the cafeteria. Thanks!! Curriculum: *Reading/Language Arts-We are beginning Unit 6 Week 5: Story: "The House That Tony Lives In". We are reviewing the skill: Setting. Review all sounds. *Math- We will continue Chapter 12-Subtraction. *Religion- Review all prayers learned this year. **Please keep in mind that assignments and schedules are subject to change during the week as needed. |
