What is going on?



Kindergarten  Students will learn about personal space (and how to stay in their own). The children will also learn to move in pathways. They will practice running, skipping, galloping,hopping and jumping.  Ask them to teach you the Turkey Dance.

1st - 2nd Grade  Children will practice running, skipping, hopping,jumping and moving in pathways. Learning personal vs. general space concepts. Also, working on upper body strength,flexibility, abdominal strength and aerobic conditioning. Ask them to show you how to do "Bicycles" and "Roman Soldiers." Favorite activities include seasonal games Turkeys in the Haystacks and Reindeer Tag.

3rd - 4th Grade  The students are working on upper body strength, abdominal strength, flexibility and aerobic conditioning. The children are highly encouraged to be doing abdominal bicycling and right angle push ups at home during tv commercials. Favorite fall activities include relay races, fitness stations, jump roping, kick ball, and volleyball lead - up games. Seasonal favorites include Pioneer Ball and the Bad Elf game.

5th - 8th Grade  Winter units will include cooperative games, basketball skills and games, dance and jump rope skills. Every class will include exercises to build core strength and upper body strength as well as aerobic conditioning.
