"Thou God seest me." Gen. 16:13 Dear Parents, Happy Valentine's Day! Tomorrow we will be trading valentine's in the classroom. A list of students was sent home in the Friday Folders. Please make sure that you include a valentine for every child in the class. If you have special treats for individual students that are not part of the PTF exchange, please pass those out before or after school. I have found that if a student is left out, they do not understand and therefore feelings are hurt. I will have cookies for the students at lunch time. Any other candy or food items will be sent home tomorrow. Since this is an exciting day, I want to try to limit the amount of sugar and sweets each child consumes. Thank you for understanding and helping with these matters. Last Friday, the children were invited to participate in the fitness activities in the multi-purpose room. I know they all enjoyed it. If you would like for your child to continue to participate in this weekly activity (Friday only), please check with the office. There is a minimal fee involved and no academics will be missed if you choose to participate. Cookie sales are Fridays. Remember, the cookies are $.50 and are packaged two per bag. If your child would like to purchase cookies - on Friday only - please make sure you send in money that morning. There is no limit to how many bags can be purchased and if I know in advance, I can send extras home. Just a few housekeeping items: Please remember to send in a warmer set of clothes for your child's extras. We are continuing with the community theme in our centers. The students have really enjoyed playing "grocery" and sending mail to other students. It is funny to see how things are done at home since they go put the groceries away in the kitchen center after they make their purchases. And the cash register is a big hit! Thanks to everyone who sent in items for the centers. Our second field trip is scheduled for March 18, 2011. We will be visiting the fire department and having a picnic lunch. I will send home more information as it becomes available, but I wanted to give everyone time to make arrangements at work. If you have any questions, please let me know. Don't forget to send in your classroom items: box tops, soup labels and drink pouches. We earn lots of money for the school with these and ask that you send them in as you have them. Also, if you shop at Publix, don't forget to scan that tag. A special thanks to each parent who has participated. Thanks for all you have done and are going to do this year! You are GREAT! As always, you can contact me at cheffaulkner@yahoo.com or 233-0411. In His Name, Janet Faulkner Bible: This week we are reviewing Heaven and learning about Jesus.
