We set-up notebooks today. The homework is to take home the Course Organizer for parents and take home the Prentice-Hall book.

and practiced division on page 660 of the book. We will have a quiz Monday on multiplying and dividing skills.

We finished our Quiz and started Place Value. Homework is the worksheet on Place Value (4th period did not get the assignment). The assignment was completed in class by 4th period.

Today we discussed the GCF and then used the SmartBoard to explore the Natinal Library of Virtual Manipulatives website to calculate Prime Factorizations, the GCF, and the LCM. No Homework.

Today we discussed Upside Down Division as a way of calculating the GCF. Homework is a worksheet on the GCF.

Tues Oct 27

Today we continued our discussion on the GCF based upon the Upside Down Division ladder. Homework is pages 129-130 problems 1-25.

Wed Oct 28

Today we looked at word problems associated with the GCF. Homework is the worksheet Practice 3-3 on the GCF. A lot of students haven't been turning in homework. We need to do a better job on homework.

Today we discussed and calculated multiples and Least Common Multiples. Homework is page 145 problems 1-8.

Today we worked on subtracting fractions, changing improper fractions to mixed numbers and reducing fractions to simplest form. Normally there is no Homework on Friday, BUT this weekend I am sending home a practice test to review for the benchmark test on tuesday. THEY MUST COMPLETE THE PRACTICE TEST THIS WEEKEND AND BRING IT BACK ON MONDAY. WE WILL CORRECT IT ON MONDAY AND IT WILL COUNT AS A TEST SCORE!!!!
