Learn the Vocabulary

Why?  Do you know what a transversal is when asked?  How about how many sides are on a nonagon?  Could you please compare and contrast a prism and a pyramid?

Geometry is not all about shapes.  It is about logic.  Facts.   Using the material taught to solve real applications where a geometric figure is involved.  Besides you learned the basic shapes while in Kindergarden.

Need to Know:   Parallel/Perpendicular Lines

                              Special Angle Relationship

                              Sum of the angles of a Polygon

                              Pythagorean Theorem

                              Perimeter/Area of a Polygon

                              Circumference/Area of a Circle

                              Volume of Polyhedron/Sphere

                              Coordinate Plane/Slope
