Key Points:

  • Parallel Lines have equal slopes and never cross.
  • Perpendicular Lines have negative reciprocal slopes and they form right angles.
  • Vertical Angles are formed when two lines intersect.
  • When 2 parallel lines are cut by a transversal,
    • Corresponding Angles are congruent.
    • Alternate Exterior Angles are congruent.
    • Alternate Interior Angles are congruent.
  • Sum of the angles of a Polygon = (n - 2)180
  • Pythagorean Theorem ⇒ a2 + b2 = c2
    • Sum of the squares the legs of a right triangle equals the square of the hypotenuse
  • Perimeter - distance around a figure.
  • Area of a Polygon
  • Circumference - distance around a circle
  • Area of a Circle
  • Volume of Polyhedron/Sphere
  • Coordinate Plane
  • Slope - Rise/Run      m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
    • Horizontal Lines have 0 slope.
    • Vertical Lines have no slope or undefined slope.

Formulas:

  • A=lw    A=½bh   A=bh    A= ½h(b1+b2)    A=s2     A=πr2
  • V=lwh   V=Bh     V=πr2h     V= πr3      V=s3     C=2πr
