ROOM 2-207 WEEK OF FEB. 6-10
LANGUAGE ARTS: The Best Vacation Ever is the story we will be reading this week. We will work on the sounds of aw and au, comprehension, drawing conclusions, adding er and est, and map skills. In Grammar we will work on writing letters and addressing envelopes. Our spelling words for this week are: paw, caught, because, talk, straw, hawk, salt, lawn, taught, fault, guess, museum, practice, vacation, and wonder. MATH: We will begin to learn about subtraction with regrouping which is subtraction with borrowing, we will begin first with two digit numbers. Continue to work on practicing subtraction facts at home. SOCIAL STUDIES: On Wednesday the 8th the state projects are due. Please make sure your child can read and understand what they wrote. The sentences should be written by them. We will continue working on the states and using North, South, East, and West to find the location of different states. SCIENCE: Our new chapter is on life long ago. We will begin learning about fossils and then different kinds of dinosaurs and their different characteristics. RELIGION: We are finishing up our Reconciliation unit and will be reviewing for our test on Thursday. We will also be watching a video reinforcing what we learned about the meaning of Reconciliation. ****MESSAGES**** **This week we will be back to our normal routine after all the different activities we had during Catholic Schools Week. **Tuesday is library day please be sure to remember the books. **Wednesday state projects due. **Thursday students will be taking their Reconciliation test. **In the Thursday folder some students will be bringing home prayers to practice reading because they were chosen to read over the PA our morning school prayers. **Next week Tuesday is Valentine's Day, students can bring in valentines and treats to share (if they want) on that day.
