Daily Class Rules and Procedures
1. CELL PHONES: Put them away! Be sure cell phone is off or silent, and put away out of sight. You may not phone, text, play games,  take pictures, or videotape in the classroom. Any phone out and visible will be confiscated. There will be no phone warnings! Refusal to give me your phone will result in an office referral immediately. Only your parent or legal guardian may retrieve it from the front office after school.

2. ENTERING THE CLASSROOM: Enter the classroom quietly. WALK!  Go directly to your assigned seat without talking and take take out your 3-ring notebook, pencil and pen. Use your hand-held pencil sharpener if needed.  YOU MAY NOT BORROW SUPPLIES FROM ANOTHER STUDENT! The teacher will provide them, but mark you unprepared. (see consequences)
3. BE PREPARED: Read the Daily Agenda and take what you need out of your backpack. You must be prepared. Close your backpack and place it on the floor until it is time to leave.  Any student who must hunt for materials, and slows down the pace of class will be marked unprepared. (See Consequences)

4.  LISTEN RESPECTFULLY: Each day the teacher presents a prepared lesson for the day's objective. New material is introduced and explained. Please do not interrupt a lesson to ask questions. The teacher anticipates student questions, and usually has included this information in the lesson. When the teacher concludes the lesson, she will give students an opportunity to ask questions she did not anticipate. Students who interrupt repeatedly, ask off topic questions, challenge the assignment, or argue with the teacher are disrespectful.  (SEE CONSEQUENCES)

5. CLASS MOVEMENT AND DISMISSAL: Students must remain in their assigned seat. Do not change seats or move about the classroom without permission. There are no excuses. Wait for permission to pack up, to place chairs on the desks at the end of the day, or to leave.  YOU MAY NOT LINE UP AT THE DOOR! THE TEACHER DISMISSES THE CLASS, NOT THE BELL!

6.  PURSES AND GROOMING: Purses must be closed and set on the floor. NO STUDENT may do anything considered grooming, apply make-up, fragrance, lotion, or deodorant in the classroom. This is inappropriate and shows disrespect. The following items are forbidden in my classroom: perfume or cologne, electric curling iron or hair straightener, and anything that may be sprayed.  If students bring these items to school, they must be left in a locker. They may not be brought into my classroom. (See Consequences)

Turn Work In On Time  Late assignments lose a letter grade per day.

   Absences -
One day more than the number of days the student was absent is allowed for make up.  Work assigned prior to a brief absence and due while the student was absent is due the day the student returns.
