11/19: Students need to get me a list of 8 scholarships they DID apply to by 1/20/2010. Completed Hood College applications are due immediately. Remember to check deadlines for colleges you are applying to. Know what requirments needed to turn in the application, including the essay topic. Work on the essay as soon as you know what the topic is so you will have time to edit and revise. Potential partial schedule students: Find out from your colleges of interest if they look favorably upon partial schedules even if you will be going to Jump Start. Also, if the college says yes that a partial schedule is acceptable, ask for a letter verifying the decision. Parents should contact me to help with financial aid (FAFSA) if they would like. 9/29: Recommendation request letters should have turned into me with no mistakes. Once I have checked this, you may hand them out to the teachers. The earlier you get them out, the better. So many students require them that teachers can get bogged down. YOU MUST GIVE TEACHERS AT LEAST 4 WEEKS TO GET THE LETTER BACK TO YOU. Be sure to utilize your Wildcat Hour wisely. It is not a time to socialize, especially if you have work to do in some of your classes. Be prepared for me to grade a full tutorial sometime soon. 10/12: I will collect 3 of your journals to be graded. I am looking for growth and development of your answers over time. I will look for in-depth thought and analysis (thinking outside of the box), and advancing vocabulary. 10/12: Tutor Logs are due today. |
