January: What's Going on in the Counselor's Spot!
This month we are focusing on respecting differences in other people as well as other cultures.
This message was conveyed to students using The Crayon Box that Talked by Shane DeRolf. We discovered through illustrating two pictures (the first picture using only one crayon and the second picture using many crayons), that the picture made with all the crayons is much better than the picture using one crayon.
Students then made the connection that while we one of a kind and special, we can get a lot more accomplished when we work together.
“We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others are bright. Some have weird names, but they have all learned to live together in the same box.” ~Unknown Author If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 521.7700 or dtcole@lpssonline.com
