Hello Parents and Students, It has been a long relaxing Summer. I hope you enjoyed your break. Now, it's time for us to begin a new school year, and I'm excited about the things to come. As we watch our students grow and change, we do our best to prepare them for their promising futures. 5th grade is their last elemetary school year. Their level of maturity, responsibility, and self-identity is blossoming. And, I am proud to be a part of helping my parents and students through this transition. I really appreciate a helpful, involved parent. We won't have a successful year without you. I have the high expectation that each of my students will strive for independence and self awareness; and that they take ownership of their academic progress. Together, I know we can reach our goals. The 5th grade year is full of challenge. Our students will be tested for FCAT Reading, Math, and Science. I have many projects and tools planned to help keep you abreast of your child's progress and informed about ways that you get get involved and assist. I look forward to meeting you at Open House (September 3, 2009 at 5:30p.m.). Until then, my doors are always open to you. You have many modes of connecting with me (phone, email, student planner, etc.); use them all, I am here!!! Happy to be your child's teacher, Mrs. Wilcher |
