Welcome to the 5th-grade student assignment page.

Tea featuring medieval reports/poetry on Fri., May 25 at 10:00.  Please RSVP with number of adults attending.

Math and Spelling written homework, as well as reading for a minimum of 30 minutes, will be assigned each school night (not over weekends, breaks or preceding holidays). Assignments in other subjects will include project guidelines and study materials in preparation for tests. Advance notice of these will be posted here. Please check this page at the beginning of each week.

Math Homework:
If multiplication tables have not been fully mastered, students should practice them each night in addition to regular homework.

Spelling homework will be replaced by English homework for the remaining weeks. We have completed Spelling requirements for the year but still have much to cover in English, especially parts of speech. Although much of this is covered during writing conferences, students will benefit from additional practice.

Reading Homework: Students are expected to read for a minimum of 30 min. each night.

Social Studies:
Ongoing: Students must learn capitals of all 50 states and be able to label the 50 states on a blank map of the U.S. Tests on these (one for location of states, one for capitals) will be given on June 1, but students may take them earlier. Students will be practicing with flash cards, games at school but are encouraged to do so at home as well.

Students should be putting together their medieval costumes (that reflect their occupation).

Students will be issued a study sheet to prepare for Fri. geography test on physical features of the U.S.  We will be studying this all week, but students may choose to practice at home as well.  Test will be exactly the same as study sheet.

Social Studies Homework:

Mon.- Thurs.:  Optional:  Students may use study sheet to further prepare for Fri. geography test.
