Dear Families, This will be my final entry for 2010-2011 grade 5 ELA. It has been my pleasure teaching your children this year. Thank you for sharing them with me these past nine months. As some of you may already know, I will be teaching grade 6 ELA next year. While my name will have changed by then(it will be Ms. Slease), it may just be my face that your child will see in the fall as they enter their ELA classrooms as 6th graders. I look forward to the challenge of new curriculum and the familiarity of some of your children's faces in August. Until then, have a wonderful summer! This week students will be finishing Steal Away Home (final quiz Wednesday), along with their end of year vocabulary review section and their interview assignments. The interviews should have been held by now. Students will be crafting the answers they received into an essay this week to be kept in their writing folders. if it isn't completely "polished" in time for our year to end, it will be a project they can pick up again in the fall as their first "choice" Students who brought their answers to class on time and make progress with their essay will be given full credit for this 20 point assignment. |
