Topic: Your Food Choices

Lesson Objectives: The students will discover...
*How studies of nutrition can help you.

* How to use the five Food Groups to help make wise food choices.

* The benefits and sources of protein,carbohydrates, and fat.

* The functions and sources of vitamins minerals, and water.

Assignments: The Food Pyramid

Homework: Review a copy of a Food Pyramid (The students need to know the groups serving sizes and foods found in each group.)

Wednesday (A-day) and Thursday(B-day)

Assessment: The Food Pyramid

Topic: Setting the Table

Lesson Objective: The students will discover...

*how to set the table, serve food,  and use good table manners.

Friday (A-day)

Topic: Kitchen Safety, Meal Planning and Kitchen Equipment

7th Grade Students


Monday (A-day) and Tuesday (B-day) 

Assessment: Kitchen Safety Rules Test

Assignment: Kitchen Safety Posters ( A day students only!)

Homework: Study for test! B-day students test will be on Tuesday 9/29

Tuesday after the test the teacher will review Small Kitchen Equipment
