Dear Parents,

       Your child's homework folder will be brought home every night.  Please be sure to remove and read all papers. All  homework should be checked before being signed and returned the following school day.

    Homework for the week of Feb.8, 2010

Reading:

     Mon.- vocabulary  words to be written on index cards (this is very important) and studied through the week-- warm,sound,extreme,predict,cold,know,great

              workbook- p.146

              read-"Stormy Weather" throughout the week.

    Thurs.- comprehension assessment

    Fri.-cold read assessment

Spelling:

   Mon.- words to be studied through the week-- mail,chain,play,cute,great,rain,way,day,use,know

   by Tues.- words are to be written in abc order (bring in notebook)

   by Thurs.- words are to be written in sentences (bring in notebook)

   Fri.- spelling assessment

Math:

  Please continue to drill basic facts ( addition & subtraction) to 20,as well as, fact families every night. We have begun timed basic facts tests.  Your child is expected to know facts to 12 without the use of manipulatives. 

     Mon.-p.87-88

     Thurs.-p.89-90

Penmanship:

  I will continue to assess neatness and accuracy of penmanship in all your child's written work. Please stress this on all work completed at home.
