I'm very excited about welcoming all the students to our new year.  We will be spending the first week adjusting to all the new challenges.  The children have written our class rules and have been assigned class jobs. Our Special classes begin this week with Library, Computer, and Spanish on Tuesday.  We have Math computer lab, Spanish, Music, and Gym on Thursday.  On Friday, we have Gym.  Please help your child remember to bring gym uniform and shoes on Thursday and Friday. Our class also changes classrooms everyday to go to Social Studies with the 4th Grade teacher, Ms. Funk.

     Thank you to all the Parents who encouraged their child to read the summer books and complete the Book Report on time. Working on Reading skills is very important . Each student will  present their report to their classmates this week. We have silent reading after lunch daily.  They can choose one of our class library books or bring one from home. I will also be sending home a monthly calendar that your child will mark daily after reading out loud 15 minutes to  Parents or another family member.  The book can be one of their textbooks or a chapter book.

     Please check your child's assignment notebook nightly.  They will show you their homework before you sign it. I appreciate your cooperation in helping your child be responsibile.
