A musical production of the Charles Dickens' classic  "A Chirstmas Carol" will be presented by the sixth graders on Thursday,  November 13 at 7:45 p.m.   This is a first for Saint John the Apostle and I encourage parents to come out for an enjoyable evening and to support the sixth graders in this endeavor.   I think you will be impressed with what we have done is such a short time and with the talent of some of our sixth graders.

National Honor Choir.  Serena,  one of our sixth graders was chosen for the very prestigous National Honors Choir.  This means that she has been chosen from very competitive auditions as one of the finest singers in the country and will be traveling to Oklahoma City in March to sing with this famous choir for several thousand choral directors from around the world.  Only eighteen students have been chosen from New Jersy.  Congratulations Serena...another first for Saint John!

The Schola (school choir) at Saint John has been even busier than last year.   This year in addition to our singing at all the school Masses we sang at the November first Sunday 10:30 a.m. Mass and will be singing every first Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. Mass and also for the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass.   We will also be Christmas caroling at the Clark Nursing Home on Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m.

Grades k-5 and the school Schola will present the annual Christmas concert on Thursday, December 4 at at 7:45 p.m.  The spring concert for the Schola and grades 7 and 8 is scheduled for Thursday,  May 7 at 7:45 p.m.

Grades 1-4: The method of music education that I am using in class is known as the Kodaly system. It stresses listening, music reading and listening skills.   All classes are doing well.
