Week of November 3- November 7, 2008

Hello and welcome to schoolnotes. Please feel free to check this site to view daily Language Arts and Social Studies homework and long term assignments. Any class/school news will also be posted. This is a tentative plan for the week.

Language Arts:

Spelling- Unit 7

Homework: ABC Order-Monday Night, 5 Sentences- Tuesday Night, Friday-Test

Grammar- Compound Predicates, Run-On Snetences

We will be reviewing all lessons from Chapter 1 on Thursday and Friday

Quiz on Tuesday

There will be homework on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday night 

Reading- Reading story of the week: "The Astronaut and The Onion" 

Skill of the week: Charcter Traits/ Setting

There will be homework on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday night

There is a vocab./skill test on Monday for "Animals Come Home To Our National Parks"

Writing- We will continue to focus on writing using details this week. We will be describing our perfect day later in the week. 

Handwriting practice will continue on a weekly basis

Social Studies:

4th Grade- This week we will complete Chapter 1. There is a review game on Monday and a Chapter test on Tuesday. Please be prepared for the review game on Monday. We will begin Chapter 2 on Wednesday. We will also discuss an upcoming project on National Parks.

 There is a Chapter 1 test on Tuesday, November 4th.

 Please take time to study the highlighted notes on each chapter to prepare you for tests.

5th Grade- This week we will begin the next unit in our textbooks on the Geography of The United States and Canada.We will create region maps and locate the seven tectonic plates on our planet using the laptops.

There will be homework on Wednesday night.

Other News:

Class Pictures are Monday.

There is a 12:00 dismissal on Friday.
