There are many activities going on through the counseling office at Overton! If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at 639-3000, ext.108 or through school notes.

1. Small counseling groups will be forming in the next couple of weeks for students who need extra attention. These groups will be formed based on needs assessments.

2.  Applications are now being accepted for 5th grade peer mediators. Mediators are trained to help other students work through their problems before an office referral is made.

3. We are currently recruiting parents and friends of Overton to volunteer in our classrooms. If this is something you're interested in, please contact myself or Paul Drucker. You must complete a background check and Communities in Schools training before you can begin.  

4. Guidance classes are now underway at all grade levels. Topics of discussion include study skills, respectful behavior at school, and teasing and bullying, to name a few.

5. The 3rd Grade Pre-EOG will not be given this year due to budget constraints. The InView Test of Cognitive Abilities will be given on September 17th.
