As we head into the winter months at Overton, the counseling office is very busy! 

1. Small groups for behavior management for K-2 students are now finished. New groups for K-5 students in behavior management will begin after the holiday break. 

2. Peer mediation continues to be available to help students resolve conflicts with other students in a productive way. 

3. Topics for classroom guidance sessions in second semester include: Feeling education (kindergarten), Anger and conflict management (1st, 2nd and 3rd grades), substance abuse education (4th grade) and career choices and bullying prevention (5th grade). 

4. Student Assistance Team meets each week at 2:15 pm in the school psychologist's trailer. If your child is struggling academically, please feel free to schedule an appointment to discuss the SAT process and review current achievement data on your child.
