  Homework:

NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK!!!

Your Social Studies Binder needs to have four sections:

Handouts: I will provide these.

Smart Starts: Your student will copy this off the board EVERY day. (Please have notebook paper in this section.)

Classwork: Please have notebook paper in this section.

Maps: I will provide these.

You can find an agenda book in the back of the BRMS handbook. Please encourage your student to use this for writing down homework assignments! We have created an EOB (Eagle  Organizational Binder). Do whatever works for you, but we encourage a folder with your agenda (handbook), bathroom pass, Eagle Success Card and schedule. This should be taken to every class.

We suggest using 2 large binders: 2nd and 3rd blocks in one binder and 4th and 5th blocks in the 2nd binder.

The only bag allowed to be carried to the gym is the PTA Eagle gym bag. These can be purchased in the office. Your student can use a book bag coming in and leaving, but it cannot be carried around the school during the day. Thanks for your help!

We have locker breaks before homeroom, after Connections (1st), after 3rd block and at the end of the day. Students will not be allowed to return to the locker unless it is locker break. Please help us encourage your student to be ORGANIZED!

Tips for life in middle school:

1. a locker shelf ($5 at walmart) it is worth it...it doubles the space in your locker!

2. EOB -Eagle Organizational Binder

You whatever works for you, but we encourage a folder with your agenda (handbook), bathroom pass, Eagle Success Card and schedule. This should be taken to every class.

3. Get organized  We recommend 2 large binders (1 1/2-2 inch).  In each binder, you will need dividers and loose notebook paper. 2nd and 3rd block classes in one binder and 4th and 5th block classes in the other. (this is the easiest way!)

4. You will need a pencil pouch (with pencils and pencil sharpener)  in each binder. The toughest thing for 6th graders (other than opening the locker) is keeping up with a pencil.

5. Everything must be kept in the locker. Think SMALL when purchasing backpacks, lunch boxes, coats, jackets, purses.

Thanks a million!
