Box-Tops / In Cartridge & Cell Phone Reycling / Campbell's Soup Label UPC Code Letter to Parents:

Dear Daniels Middle School Parents:

Daniels Middle School continues to collect Box Tops for Education, UPC codes from Campbell’s soup labels, and recycling ink cartridges. This year we are adding old cell phones to our recycling program.

Please read the important information below:

1)  We only accept box-tops that are trimmed and bagged in Ziploc bags of 50.  The student’s name and homeroom teacher needs to be written on the outside of the bag. Students earn one hour community service for each bag of 50 box-tops. Please check the expiration date on the box-tops before bagging them. Visit www.boxtops4education.com

for a complete list of products.

2) We no longer accept the soup labels, only the UPC codes off of the soup labels. Each teacher has 1-point or 5-point collection sheets for these UPC codes. You can’t staple them on the sheets. They have to be glued. We will only accept UPC codes that are on the collection sheets. Three 1-point collection sheets or one 5-point collection sheets will earn a student one hour community service. Visit www.labelsforeducation.com

3) Four small ink cartridges and two large ink cartridges will earn a student one hour community service. Please place the smaller ones in a Ziploc bag so that they won’t leak all over everything else.

4) We are accepting cell phones for the first time this year. One cell phone will equal to one hour community service.

Contest

We run a contest twice a year, and the homeroom with the most points wins a continental breakfast. The homeroom with the most number of points at the end of the year wins a pizza party.

We do earn cash twice a year for the box-tops, and cash for the ink cartridges. With the Campbell’s UPC codes, we are currently accumulating our points so that we can eventually get something from their catalog that the students at Daniels will be able to use in the classroom. The money earned from box-tops and ink cartridge recycling goes back into the school as well.

We are looking forward to another successful year of collecting here at Daniels with your help!
