Week of Nov. 23, 2009

Religion: This week we will focus on the Liturgy of the Word and using it as a call to action.

Reading:We are sharing a Thanksgiving readers' theater with our special guests.

Share topic: This week we will have free share!

Spelling/Phonics: We will review our word wall words.  There will not be a spelling test due to the short week!

Math: We continue to work on double-digit addition!  The students should be reviewing facts to 20 at home.  You may want to use the link, Fact Dash, at the bottom of this page!   

Social Studies: The earth is our topic of discussion for our second unit.  We are learning about landforms and geography.

Science: Lion, tigers, and bears, oh my!  Animals have taken over our science lessons.   We are learning about animals' habitats.

Odds and Ends

Homework:

Spelling: Nothing this week!

Reading :Thirty minutes each night! The November book project is due December 1. 

Math: Pages assigned in class.

Snack:Students should bring a healthy snack to school each day. Examples are fruit, granola bars, pretzels, etc.

Gym: Gym days are Mondays and Wednesdays. Please send your child to school in their gym uniform. It is cold!  Students should have sweatpants to wear outside for recess which immediately follows gym class. They should bring a gym bag containing their school uniform and shoes.
