November 16, 2009

Well, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, we have lots to take care of...

Please fill out and return the diploma paper that was sent home.

The sweatshirt orders are ready to submit. Please turn in orders asap so that we can get rolling with numbers... exciting-

Report cards are scheduled to go home on November 20. ITBS scores should also go home with the report cards. If your student went down in a few areas, ask them what they can do to turn it around. What are they willing to commit to trying or doing differently. This will help them accept responsibility for their work and their week, a step in becoming independent. If there are questions please be sure to ask for help.

History explores the steps to the Constitution over the next few weeks, so take a break and read the lessons to refresh your memory; it's quite interesting...
We are beginning to talk about our service learning project, so stay tuned.

Technology is exploring Keynote as presentation software. They will be given a science project this week which correlates to the science at their grade level.

Remind your student that 30 minutes of reading is standard homework, every day of the week. This is one of the most important things that they can do for themselves when trying to achieve in school. If they have time, why not start thinking of what they will be doing for their Young Author's book? It is the last one they will do, so they want to do well, I'm sure.

Happy Turkeys to everyone. Enjoy the time with your family-

Mrs. Kelly
