What we did today:

Wednesday, 9/8/10

1. Opener: "People Migrate Across the Earth" To complete this opener you will need to access the atlas pages, "Early Settlements and Civilizations" Both are available under my website at "Documents" "Openers."

2. SpringBoard: We started unpacking our first Embedded Assessment.

3. Class time was given for working on your Cultural Universals Poster, which is due Thursday, September 9th. If you have last minute questions you may ask them on my discussions page.

Tuesday, 9/7/10

1. Opener: Journal Entry. Reflect on our discussion of last Friday about what you can accomplish, and write down your school goals for this year. Include what you are willing to do differently this year to make your goals come true.

2. Correct & Collect: Darnell's Class Schedule. Openers are worth 5 points as follows: Having the sheet completed prior to class (2 pts.), having your heading (name filled out), correcting any mistakes, and correcting it in red pen or pencil (1 point each). These scores do not figure into your grade.

3. Review our Pre-Test from last Friday

4. Cultural Universals Poster (due Thursday)

Friday, 9/3/10

1. Opener: "Darnell's Class Schedule"

2. Pre-test; a measurement of what skills students already possess.

3. SpringBoard books were assigned; remember to have yours on your desk if SpringBoard is written in orange on the agenda.
