Progress reports will be going out in another week or so.  Please do everything you can to bring your grade up before then!

Re: Reward Break.  If you lose your break two weeks in a row, you will receive a short form.  Three times in a row results in a long form.  Please work hard not to get in trouble and lose your card!

We will visit the library on Wednesday, February 1st to attend the book fair.  There are many, many great items available! Please remember to bring money that day to support the OGMS library!

We are currently reading the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred Taylor.  The Ch. 4-6 test will be Friday, February 3rd.  Students should have vocabulary words from class. Students should also be keeping up with their response journals--after each chapter, you will need to add at least one good paragraph in response to the events of that chapter (predictions, opinions, questions, summaries, etc.).  Response Journals will be turned in at the end of the novel for a major grade, so please keep up with them and keep them updated!

In grammar, we are working on subject-verb agreement.  We have a daily grade on Wednesday the 1st and a quiz on Thursday the 2nd on the rules we have covered so far.  Students should have notes from class! Daily grade and quiz work will also be given back to you so we can go over them in class and eventually use them as a study guide for our test (tba).  So please keep up with your work!

The state writing test is coming up in March, so as soon as finish our novel we will be working on persuasive writing and reviewing informative and narrative writing.
