"Major Religions" chart due on Wednesday. This chart involves research. The final cells of the chart even require that you use the information collected to form a conclusion of your own. You will not find a statement saying "The impact of this religion on government is . . . ."

Making Connections is due tomorrow (Tuesday, January 5th). Remember to find at least three photos or articles that you can connect to what we have been studying in class. We have been studying the beginnings of civilization and the ancient history of the Fertile Crescent. Thinking about the accomplishments of the Sumerians alone will lead to many possible illustrations.

12/18: Read textbook pages 435-438 and answer questions #2-#4 on page 438 (write hw on page 19 of your ISN)

12/16:
Quiz tomorrow on pages 12-17 of your notebook and the vocabulary words on the yellow page that we have covered. Use the flash cards at the bottom of this website.

12/7:
"Fertile Crescent" packet is due on Friday. That means do NOT wait until Thursday evening to do an hours worth of homework. Spend twenty minutes a night on it and you'll be finished in two or three days!

12/2:
Study the political and physical maps of Southeast Asia and North Africa for tomorrow's quiz. Review the study questions handed out in class today.

Make sure your ISN is up-to-date and accurate. The Table of Contents and the previews are attached to this website at the bottom of the page. Use the links to geography quizzes online.

"Making Connections", also due on Friday, must have at least three pictures, photos, illustrations or articles from a magazine, newspaper, ad or internet that relate to the Middle East. Add two to three sentences explaining how this illustration relates to the Middle East as we have been studying.

12/1:
Read textbook pages 423-427 and answer questions 1 & 2 on page 427. Put these answers on page 14 of your ISN -- due Friday.

11/20
Study countries, major cities and physical features of the Middle East for test on Thursday, Dec. 3rd.

Study your yellow Study Guide and your vocabulary lists ("geography terms" and "map terms"). Assessment on Thursday.

Complete Review Packet, pages 3, 4, 7, & 9. Due Wednesday.

Your ISN needs to be up-to-date and accurate for Friday's notebook quiz.
Also due on Friday is your "Making Connections" page--find at least three articles or illustrations that are connected to our current Social Studies unit (latitude/longitude; seasons;time zones; climate regions; factors that affect climate; etc).

10/13:
Climate Graphs and Maps packet -- due Thursday 10/15 (15 min per night)
RE-takes of the Map Vocabulary quiz will be given during lunch on Thursday. Pick up a pass from me to leave the cafeteria after you eat your lunch and come to my room for the quiz. Students who were absent can make up the test during class.

Be sure that the first page of your Study Guide is up to date. The answers should be taken straight from your notebook. ("Elements of a Good Map" = "Components of a Good Map"). We will have a quiz based on the Study Guide on Friday--no need to memorize, you can use the information on your Study Guide!

9/23:
Notebook QUIZ on Friday. Make sure your ISN is in order and complete. Complete the "Making Connections" on page 5 of your notebook (ISN). Find at least three photos, drawings, articles or your own creation that are linked to what we are studying in social studies (elements of culture, geography terms, and map skills).

9/22:
Finish World Map if you did not complete it in class.

9/21:
Read pages 45-49 of your textbook.
Answer questions 1-2 in "Geography Skillbuilders" (write hw on page 7 of your ISN)  Due Wednesday.

Create a "Making Connections" page on page 5 of your ISN. -- Due Friday

Friday -- ISN quiz. Be sure your notebook is in order, correct and neat.
