Please make sure to return all text books and library books.  Students must pay for any lost books.

June 5th (1&3), June 6th (2&4), & June 7th (5&6) the students will be dismissed at 2:40 pm - NO BOOKBAGS, TOTEBAGS, OR SHOPPING BAGS are allowed the last three days of school.  Students should only have their textbooks (if applicable), pencils/pens, and a notebook.

Water guns, water balloons, shaving cream, etc. are not permitted on school premises.  Students who bring such items or engage in activities involving such items will face disciplinary measures.  For further information pertaining to student's responsibilities regarding discipline, please refer to the Code of Student Conduct.

Uniforms are mandatory at RMS.  Any student who comes to school without the proper uniform will be asked to contact their parents and have them bring him/her the proper uniform.  Avoid this inconvenience and make sure that your child wears the correct uniform daily.  Team T-shirts may be worn on Fridays as this is our "SPIRIT" day.

"DRESS DOWN" Uniform Donation Days are on Wednesday, June 6th and THursday, June 7th.  You must donate a full RMS uniform (shirt and pants) in order to participate.  (NO SHORTS)

Yearbooks on sale $25 cash through homeroom

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is critical to your child’s education. Students that are not in school miss out on their education. Due to our block schedule, everyday that a student is absent, he/she misses two (2) days worth of education. For this reason, parents are asked to schedule appointments after school or on teacher work days.

Once again, we would like to thank the parents for making sure that students arrive by 9:00 am. Tardies have been reduced. RMS hours are the following 9:10 am 3:50 pm. Please make sure your child is picked up daily at 3:50 pm, as there is no supervision after school. Students participating in the sports and clubs programs should be picked up as soon as practice or meetings are over, no later than 5:30 pm.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

The Middle School Enrichment Program is available at RMS Monday–Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. for $40 per week in the Media Center. This program provides homework assistance, computer lab access and snacks.

Dear Students & Parents:  You can  access the textbook online without a password.  Have your child log into the student portal.  (See below for instructions.)  Once you are signed into the student portal scroll down to the "student class list".  Find the Mathematics course and in the second column under eTextBook, click on the book icon.   "Under the e-Text Books List", click on FL 6YR WORKTEXT MATH 1 HMD.  Then you should automatically be taken to the textbook's website.

ACCESS TO THE GRADEBOOK (Student Portal):

Parents and students can get into the gradebook as a student.

They have to go first to:

Click on the Students tab

Click on Login to Portal (red) Click on Login to Student Portal (green)


User name type: student ID (7 digits)

Password:  birth month birth year pw (December 1993) 

Example:  Chris Martin ID#1234567 - Date of Birth 12/2/1993 

Log in:  1234567 Password:  121993pw

If you are having difficulty acessing the gradebook online, reset your password. 

Before you can create a parent account for the M-DCPS Parent Portal you must have the following information:

1. Your child's M-DCPS student ID number
2. A Parent 6-digit PIN (Visit the main office to get you Parent PIN)
3. Your child's date of birth
4. Your child's state or country of birth
5. Your child's Zip Code

Once you have the above information, go to Parents section on at Dadeschools.net and click on the 'Login to Portal' button.  Once there, click the green 'Create an Account' button to begin entering the required information.

It takes 24 hours after you are registered with the Parent Account Registration System to be able to change your initial password in the Password Management/P-Synch system.
