In-class:

Math - Studied and modeled the Pythagorean Theorem.  The students were also "taught" (learning not guaranteed) how to calculate the square root of a number.

Social Studies - Participated in the "send-off" for the 8th grade.

Science -- Reviewed the types of nerve cells and the stimuli-response cycle of the central nervous system.

Social Studies -- Confirm that the plans made in this mornings class are doable -- such as 'can you get the materials you want to use?'.

Science- -- Complete the dowel experiment. Read section 3 of Chapter 19 and complete Notetaking on that section.

In-class:

Math - Corrected MB 7-1. Began work on probabilities on jp 247.

Social Studies - Met as teams to plan for the development of the timeline.

Science -- Conducted a 'simple machine' experiemnt with the dowels and collected /corrected the Reinforcement homework. Reenacted some experiments with gravity and friction.

Social Studies - Passed out the project direction with due date of 4/22. Gave the students a completion checklist type of document. Should write ideas on one side for the team's activities. Began review of lessons 1 & 2 in Chap 5.

Science -- Discussed the video on forces and motion and worked on a Notetaking worksheet to reinforce the lessons in sections 1 & 2.

Science -- Used the afternoon time to complete an annual Art project of making crosses from match sticks.

April 7,2010 -- Today was Math and Science day. There were assemblies and activities, but no homework. The extra credit for Social Studies is due tomorrow, and the Take-home test will be given tomorrow, so there could be 'study time' needed.

Parents. I am having issues with SchoolNotes. They are dropping days or not saving my inputs, and today I seem to have lost all preceding days. The problem has only been over the last three weeks, it seems, but it is now significant.
