The Louisiana Department of Education encourages all students to read every day during the summer. Reading is the biggest factor in your child’s academic success. Children who read more do better inschool. Our goal is for every student to become a capable reader and to develop alove for reading. Parents can help theirchildren reach that goal by reading to them and with them daily. If your children are already reading, encourage them to read at least 30 minutes daily. Involve them in reading activities at the public library. Help your child see that books are passports tothe world.
