Extra Credit Opportunity – Essay Contest

 

If you’re looking to boost your language arts grade here’s your chance!

 

Pick up information regarding a Rotary essay contest form the student resource desk in the front of my classroom. The entry deadline is November 15. Three cash prizes will be awarded to winners. $150 for first place…$75 for second place…$50 for third place. In the past the winners have been invited to a lunch-in to be honored for their writing. The contest is open to 7 th and 8th grade students. Essays must be 300 words or less. Please see the handouts that

 

Extra credit opportunities don’t come around that often so don’t skip your chance to help your grade and your piggybank.

After getting feed back from the students, I have decided to have each student keep his/her warm-ups in a composition notebook, which will be kept in the class. This system is based on the system that the other Tiger Shark teachers use (Ms. Pitts, Mrs. Brown, and Mrs. Holloway) Starting next week Mr. Bilenky’s language arts classes will keep their warm-ups in a composition notebook .

The Tiger SharksTeam is looking for donations of outdoor equipment to use during outside time on Team Days. We are looking for items such as basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, kickball balls, and Frisbees, etc. The equipment can be new or gently used. Your student can bring the equipment to his/her homeroom teacher.
