KB NEWS!!! SUPPLIES NEEDED: PAPER TOWELS SPECIALS FOR KB Monday & Wednesday-Music Tuesday & Thursday-Gym Wednesday-Computer Art-Friday Once the announcements are completed the children come and sit on the floor for circle time. We look at the calendar for the day and read the Blessing for the day and finish with the Our Father and Hail Mary for the daily prayers. In Reading this week we will meet the letter and sound for Jj. The sight word is: was. I test the children on Thursday and Friday on the sight words. They do not have to spell the words, just recognize them. Math-We will continue with Chapter 6. The children will survey and record data, complete and intrepret picture graphs, pictographs, and bar graphs, explore fraction concepts, including one half and one fourth, explore events more likely, equally likely, or less likely to occur, solve problems by making a list.
Handwriting-The children will print the capital and lowercase letter Jj. The children will work on sentences. Religion-The children will work on Chapter 12-We Learn About God With Our Friends. Science/Social Studies-We will listen to stories about Valentine's Day.
Weekly Reader The class has adopted a stuffed dog for our mascot. They have named him Apollo and he will go home with one student on friday. They are to dictate their real or imaginary expriences with Apollo in his journal. We will read the story on Monday when they bring Apollo to school.
