HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I take the children out for recess on days that is weather permitting. Please have your child bring an appropriate outwear jacket or coat daily. PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE AN EXTRA SWEATER VEST. A STUDENT IN OUR CLASS IS MISSING THEIR SWEATER. MONDAY-JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT-AVERY BIG THANK YOU TO MRS. SCHINO FOR BEING OUR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT LEADER. WEDNESDAY-NOVEMBER 25TH-12:30 DISMISSAL-NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE THURSDAY-NOVEMBER 26TH & FRIDAY-NOVEMBER 27TH-NO SCHOOL SPECIALS TUESDAY & THURSDAY-GYM WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY-MUSIC Every morning during our Circle Time we discuss the calendar and the daily schedule. I read the daily Blessing from our Blessing for Everyday Book. We make the Sign of the Cross and recite the Our Father and the Hail Mary. READING-We will review the letters and sounds we have met. There are no new sight words this week. I test the children on thursday and friday on the sight words. Please practice the words daily. HANDWRITING-The children will print the letters and sight words. The children will continue to copy sentences off the board for their morning seatwork. These sentences are from the many stories the children listen to during the day. MATH-The children will begin Chapter 4. They will identify and make groups with as many as, more, or fewer objects, identify, show, and draw groups through 10 objects, use ordinal numbers first through tenth to identify position. RELIGION-We will discuss: Being Thankful. The children should be able to pray the Hail Mary, Our Father and the Act of Contriction. We say these prayers daily along with the Before and After meal prayers. The children should also be able to make the Sign of the Cross. SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES-We will continue our discussion on the Pilgrims, Indians and The First Thanksgiving. The children are listening to a variety of stories about The First Thanksgiving. WEEKLY READER- CENTERS ART-Weaving MATH-Thankful Harvest-Graphing We have a class mascot named Belle. One student will have a chance to take her home on Friday. Please write the real or imaginary experiences for the weekend in the journal and return Belle on Monday. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
