Once the announcements are completed the children come and sit on the floor for circle time. We look at the calendar for the day and read the Blessing for the day and finish with the Our Father and Hail Mary for the daily prayers.

In Reading this week we will review the letter and sounds and discuss word families. The sight wordS are : big, little.  I test the children on Thursday and Friday on the sight words. They do not have to spell the words, just recognize them.

Math-We will begin Chapter 10-Time. The children will sequence events, read a calendar, tell and write time to the hour.     

Handwriting-The children will begin an Ocean Book.  

Religion-We Pray As Jesus Did  

Science/Social Studies-We will discuss the ocean and ocean animals.

Weekly Reader

The class has adopted a stuffed dog for our  mascot. They have named him Apollo and he will go home with one student on friday. They are to dictate their real or imaginary expriences with Apollo in his journal. We will read the story on Monday when they bring Apollo to school.
