I am in the middle of grading the September writing prompts, and I feel compelled to share how I feel about these amazing students. I know is sounds like hyperbole to say this, but I am amazed by the thoughts, hopes, and experiences that these students were so generous to share. I'm sure that sometimes it is difficult to talk to 6th graders, but I am convinced that they are great communicators. I have learned so many things about these youngsters. This has been some of the best reading for me! Ask your child to share with you what they wrote about. I'm sure you'll be impressed like me. If you are interested, I can make a copy of their writing for you.

I am looking for students to write guest blogs. I am interested to hear what your thoughts are about what is going on in room 46. Please email me at bapperson@lisbonschool.org with the subject line "guest blog" with your blogs, or questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
P.S. I will give extra credit for your work!

Well, now it seems the year is underway. No longer are we dealing with 95 degree rooms. The students presented their summer memory boxes this Monday. They did a great job. The boxes were great, and the presentations were well done also. I love hearing about everyone's summer. It gives me great ideas for my own family adventures.
I will be off to Cooperstown, NY to play in my baseball team's annual "Hall of Fame" game this weekend. That will be about it for baseball for me until the spring. I am also attempting to train for a half marathon on October 9th. We'll see if I can get ready quick enough. Mrs. Apperson has been pushing me to try one. Perhaps I can join her this year. After that, my thoughts will quickly turn to skiing. Well, that's all for now.
