Bellwork-How do I use a dictionary to find the meaning of words?
Classwork:TSW complete  the vocabulary worksheet for Chapters 3 and 4 orally together in class.
TSW use a dictionary to define vocabulary words for the week.
TSW begin reading Chapter 3 in their novel.
TTW evaluate students' oral reading
 
Tuesday
Bellwork-Complete the activity sheet on similes.
Classwork-
TSW finish readig chapter 3.
TTW introduce character and characterization-tsw take notes in their binder
TSW create a paper chain character to analyze a character in the novel and also serve to compare and contrast the character with themselves. 
 
Wednesday
Bellwork-TSW write two sentences from the board and label them as "direct" and "indirect"
Classwork-
TSW Complete the paper chain character activity.
TSW be given a study guide that they are to complete at home for homework.
 
Thursday-
Bellwork-TSW Label the plot diagram. (introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution)
Classwork-TSW reveiw the study guide with the teacher.
Create a creative writing activity "newspaper" to tell about the first murder in the book.
 
Friday-
Bellwork-Staple all bellwork and study for test.
Classwork-TSW be given a test on chapter 3 comprehesion and vocabulary
