Week of January 25-29 

Language Arts 8 Period 1

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we will continue work on the Say-Mean-Matter Form, thesis statement and the essay. Monday's homework is to find a quote for the say-mean-matter on Charlie's emotional change for Paragraph four. On Wednesday, we will start the body paragraphs 3-4 on the outline essay form writing an outline for an essay based on their thesis statement. Homework will be to work on the next step-the conclusionof the essay. On Friday, we will continue work on the essay and hopefully get to the checklist editing stage. Homework for the weekend will be to do the checklist. The students will be given handouts on all these steps. The handouts are the ones used in the high school. 

On Tuesday and Thursday, we will do the Reasoning and Writing Program-Lessons 24-25. Homework for those days is to complete the independent work section of the lesson.  Not this week-We are also doing a daily language review sheet at the start of each class.

LC Science Period 2 

This week in Earth Science-We are working on Chapter 11 Section 2 and Chapter 4. They need their spirals and workbooks in class every day. Monday's homework is to study for the Chpater 11 Section 2 test. Please use their spirals and workbooks to study from. Tuesday's homework is geoscience 12. Wednesday's homework is Model Earth. This is a project due on Monday, Feb. 1. Information about it will be given in class. There is also some informaion on the textbook page 131. Thursday's homework is geoscience 13. Friday's homework is to study for the chapter 4 Section 1 quiz. To study for quizzes use the vocabulary flashcards in the spirals. The assessment questions at the end of the section and the workbook pages. Every day review the vocabulary flashcards for the chapter.

This week in Life Science-Monday-We will take the Chapter 7 Section 4 quiz and begin Chapter 5 Homework is to make the Sec. 1 vocabulary cards. Tues.-we will work on workbook pages 69-72 and make a punnet square. Homework is review the vocabualry flashcards.  Wednesday-we are doing a Skills lab and review sheet p. 29. Homework is vocabulary flashcards review 4.1 for quiz and geoscience 5. Thursday we are working on the quiz and Chapter 5 section 2-probability. Homework is to make the section 2 flashcards. Friday-workbook pages 73-76, lab zone activity and more probability. Homework is geoscience 6.

Math Period 3

We will be working on our math modules. There will be warm-ups for skills review. We are also working on bonus work in multiplication, division and fractions/mixed numbers. They will have homework each day this week. They will be worksheets. Homework is meant to be a review of previous skills, so that we can keep familiar with them. Math fact drill at home would be great.

ALL CLASSES-Homework is always due the next day unless it specifically says different. If you want to know how or what your child is doing in school each day, please check their assignment binder. You can also check schoolnotes.com and power school. Your child is responsible for writing assignments in their binder.

PLEASE MAKE SURE that if your child has EYEGLASSES that they wear them to school.
