Enochville Elementary School Wise Owls 2nd Grade Rocks!! Miss Jacobs Ms. Ervin  Our theme this year is all about working hard so we can GROW and be all we can be! February News Progress Reports come home this Wednesday. Be sure to review your child's progress. Sign and return the progress report, and let me know if you have any questions. The annual Spell-a-thon is starting again. Start collection pledges and study your words! Continue to remind your child that good behavior is expected and necessary for us to all learn. Each day we are learning new and important things. If we are paying attention and not distracting others, we will all do our best! Remember we want to keep an open communication line between home and school to ensure we are doing what is best for each and every child. I want everyone to do their BEST every day! Check over their homework to be sure they are doing their neatest work. ** Please remember to help your child study their math facts each week. They will be timed on their test on Friday! Dates to Remember: Feb. 22 - Progress Reports Mar. 1 - Spell-a-thon Test Day Mar. 9 - Field Trip HOMEWORK NOTES: ** Reading Log Information: Each night your child needs to read and record a book; each night they are to answer a comprehension question; and they need to find ONE vocabulary word to define for the week. Please help them keep up with this each night and return the log each day! Each night there will be homework to help us learn our spelling words and math facts. Homework is to be turned in each day. The homework assignments for the week will be sent home on Monday, but we will also write down each night's assignment at school. Please remember to sign your child's agenda each night. It is the best way for us to contact you or for you to contact us, and having you sign it is our way of knowing you are monitoring your child's progress. Each week homework assignments, spelling words, and math facts will be posted below on our class website.  Weekly Homework: (assignments are not always the same each week) Monday Night- SP - write 2 times each, once in pencil and once in pen MF - choose 10 to write 2 times each Read - record book and answer one question Tuesday Night- SP - choose 7 words, write a QUESTION with each one MF - choose another 10 math facts to write 2 times each Read - record book and answer one question Wednesday Night- SP - write words 1-10, then write a word that rhymes with it MF - math sheet Read - record book and answer one question Thursday- Study for SPELLING and MATH FACTS tests!
