STORM CHASERS

Welcome to Mr. Herring's

Math Class

Welcome to seventh grade mathematics! This year in mathematics, we are going to build upon the concepts that you learned last year in sixth grade, as well as, learn a lot of new concepts.

Contact the Teacher - I check my email at least twice daily, so please feel free to email me at herringda@rss.k12.nc.us about any issues that you are concerned about. If you feel that you need to talk to me by telephone, you may reach me at 704-638-5561 during my planning time (12:48 - 2:20).

Homework Hotline - The homework hotline should have assignments posted daily. Please call 704-638-5561 ext. 319 for assignments.

Team Tutoring - The team will offer an afternoon of tutoring every Tuesday from 2:30 - 3:15. Make sure if you plan on staying that you have a ride here promptly at 3:15.

Agendas - I will sign/stamp agendas each day to ensure that homework has been written down. It will be the responsibility of the student to get his/her agenda signed each night by a parent. Agendas are an excellent way for me to communicate with parents and vice versa, so it will be very important for parents to see and sign the agenda each night.

Dress Code - I expect students to follow the current dress code, which is for shirts to be tucked in and a belt to be worn every day. Khaki or navy pants, capris, and shorts can be worn, however; the shorts should be at the knee.

Gum Policy - There will be absolutely NO GUM tolerated! This is a school-wide rule.

Team and Classroom Expectations

1. Be respectful to EVERYONE
2. Be responsible for MYSELF
3. Be prepared and ready to LEARN
4. ALWAYS raise hand to speak or get out of seat

Team and Classroom Consequences

3. Written note in agenda or BOUNCE
4. Phone call home

    * Automatic silent lunch if agenda is not signed by parent
** Steps may be skipped in the event of severe offenses

Rewards

1. A candy reward will be given every two weeks to students who have had their agendas signed by a parent every day.

2. A team reward will be given once per month for good behavior. To attend the reward, students must NOT have had the following consequences since the last reward:
