For this assignment, students must educate their peers about the importance of being heart healthy and how to keep their heart healthy. Students will work in groups of their choice to create a 3-5 minute PSA (Public Service Announcement) educating Daniels about what they have learned over the past few weeks. Week of January 11-15:

This week we will continue our journey through the circulatory system. By this  week students should have a clear understanding of the heart and circulatory system, so we will move into heart disections, and heart disease.

Week of January 4-8:

This week we will begin our unit on body systems. We will first define  a system, and then move into our first system of study, which is the circulatory system. This "mini-unit" will include a focus on the major organs that are involved in the circulatory system, and then move into environmental factors that could compromise the health of that system.

Week of December 14-18:

Students will finish up their study of genetics this week. Monday in class, students will finish their study guides and we will review as a class. Tuesday we will take the genetics test.  On Monday, I will stay after school for any student who needs extra help or wishes to have more time with me to study for the test. (2:30-3:15* Depending on how long the child wishes to stay. Please have rides ready accordingly) Wednesday students will take their final Blue Diamond on genetics and clean out their notebooks with a notebook check. Thursday and Friday will be reserved for watching Lorenzo's Oil.

*Remember Monday, December 21st is a Teacher Workday. Friday is the last day of school before the Holiday break!!! Have a wonderful holiday.

Week of December 7-11:

Week of November 16-20:

Correction about the trimester exam, the science exam will be given Tuesday the 17th of November. Students will have a day to review for the exam in class on Monday. After the exam we will continue exploring genetics through their work on pedigrees and punnett squares. Students will have a quiz on the genetic material on Friday.

Week of November 9-13:
