Grading policy for Mr. Price’s PE Classes:

 

Students are expected to complete all work thoroughly and turned in to the teacher on the assigned due date.  No assignments will be accepted after the due date. All work will be graded by the teacher and returned to the students in a timely manner.

 

Grading categories and weighted percentage:

 

Class work:                                        70%

            Participation

            Dressing

            Written Assignments

 

Homework                                          10%

Assessments                                      20%

 

Homework will not be accepted after DUE DATE. Cheating on a quiz or test will result in a ZERO and parents or guardians will be notified. If a student’s absence is excused they will be permitted to make-up missed work, quizzes and tests.

 

Grading Scale:

           

            90 - 100 =          A

            80 - 89 =            B

            70 - 79 =            C

            60 - 69 =            D

            59 and below = E

 

You decide your grade.

Monday, November 2nd, 2009: B-Day

Homework: Students are to read the PE rules and procedures and place their name and grade at the top of the acknowledgement form. Parents are to read the PE rules and procedures, and sign and date the acknowledgement form. Students are to turn-in the Acknowledgement form on Wednesday, November 4th for my B-Day class.

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009:A-Day

Thursday, November 5th: A-Day

Classwork: Students are to work on their target heart rate worksheet and complete it at home. They are to turn-in the target heart rate worksheet Monday, November 9th.

Friday, November 6th: B-Day

Classwork: Students are to work on their target heart rate worksheet and complete it at home. They are to turn-in the target heart rate worksheet Tuesday, November 10th.

 

Thursday, November 12th: A-Day

Classwork: Students will start their FitnessGram Pre-test by performing the pacer and flexibility portion of the test. The Upper body strength and curl-up portion of the test will conclude on Monday, November 16th.

Homework: Students are to fill-in their fitness logs with the type of exercise or activity they are performing and how long they are exercising per week. They are to workout a minimum of five hours a week for Five weeks for full credit.

Fitness logs are due on the following dates for A-day:

                  Tuesday, November 24th; Tuesday, December 1st; Monday, December 7th; Tuesday, December 15th; and Monday, December 21st. 

The Fitness Log rubric is as follows: 5 hours wk = 10pts.; 4 1/2 hours wk = 9pts.;  4 hours wk = 8pts.; 3 1/2 hours wk = 7pts.; 3 hours wk = 6pts.; 2 1/2 hours wk = 5pts.; 2 hours wk = 4pts.; 1 1/2 hours wk = 3pts.; 1 hour wk = 2 pts.; anything less than 1 hour will result in a zero.
