Welcome 7th Grade

Welcome to 7^th grade! I’m excited about the opportunity to work with you.  I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.

Curriculum areas we will focus on this year in science include:

• Designing and conducting investigations to demonstrate an understanding of scientific inquiry.
• Demonstrating an understanding of technological design.
• Conducting investigations and utilizing appropriate technologies and information systems to build an understanding of the atmosphere.

·      Conducting investigations, using models, simulations, and appropriate technologies and information systems to build an understanding of the complementary nature of the human body system.

·      Conducting investigations and utilizing appropriate technologies and information systems to build an understanding of heredity and genetics.

• Conducting investigations, using models, simulations, and appropriate technologies and information systems to build an understanding of motion and forces.

I am very excited about starting our first unit on Weather & Atmosphere.  If you would like to help out, I would greatly appreciate some donation of items that we need for activities in our class.  These items do not have to be new.  I will be happy to take gently used items.

Items we need for our unit of Weather & Atmosphere (We will start by September  14th)

• Balloons
• Cotton Balls
• Rubber Bands
• Clear Packing Tape
• String
• Poster Board
• Different SPF, sunscreen, even out of date sunscreen
• Different scraps of fabric
• Sunglasses (old and we will return them)
• Beach Towels (We will return them)
• Umberellas (We will return them)
• Hats (Different types Ball caps, straw hats, Hats that have a SPF. We will return)
• Basically anything that you are curious if it protects you from UV Rays.
• Jar lids (any size)
• Baby food jars w/ lids
• Blue & Green food coloring
