Strategic Reading Program


Objectives:  to achieve on or above grade level reading skills by improving decoding ability, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension, to earn better grades in content courses through improved use of reading strategies.


NOTE- There is a change in schedule.  Mondays and Fridays will
be the days for practicing reading comprehension through empower3000.com, and decoding through Saxon Phonics. Journals
will still be due on Fridays.  Vocabulary Quizzes will shift to another day, and new vocabulary will be introduced after the quizzes every two weeks.

  Time your reading; create a progress chart.
* Review
vocabulary.

* Individual practice reading and responding to news articles with

THURSDAY:

* Revisit T2T reading strategy.  Ms. Fick, guidance counselor shows you how
  she's used it in her job.

* Wrap up.
