October Can you believe October is almost over?! We had a very busy week. I know the students are excited to show you their completed projects in a few weeks during report card conferences. Yes, that right, it's that time of year again. Your child will bring home a report card conference reminder slip next Monday, November 2nd. Please check that the time works for you. If it doesn't, please write down some alternate times that work best, and I will be in touch to coordinate a new conference time. This Thursday, October 29th, we will start making our paper mache globes in social studies class. All students should have a smock with them. The smock does not need to be fancy. An old, over sized shirt will do the trick. The mache can be messy, especially when 19 students are doing it at once! W.R.A.D day is this Friday, October 30th. Flyers with information were sent home yesterday. If your family is able to contribute an item the class thanks you. If not, no worries. We will have a few more W.R.A.D days over the course of the year. It's flu season and Room 24 is doing their part in keeping germ free. We've been cleaning our desktops and classroom surfaces frequently. Our hand washing is taking place almost hourly. Please remind your child that it's not appropriate to share snacks or food in class or the cafe. Thanks to all the families who donated Box Tops for Education. If our count is accurate, we raised 490 box tops. I'll keep you posted on the winner of the contest. We have also started gathering more box tops for the next contest. So feel free to send them in if they are laying around your kitchen table or countertops.
Remember, Saturday is daylight saving time. We set our clocks back an hour. It's also a great time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. ![]() I hope everyone has an enjoyable and a safe Halloween. Please feel free to email me or write a note in the planner if you have any questions. Miss Mullen
