Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year!
It seems like just yesterday we were breathing a sigh of relief after EOGS, enjoying field day, and looking forward to everything summer promised to offer. However, in the blink of an eye, summer has passed and now I am excited to be back and to be planning for another year of student growth and accomplishments. This year I will be serving third, fourth, and fifth graders through a combination of pull-out and co-teaching instruction. As in years past, I will be contacting parents a month or so before IEPs are due in order to set up a meeting. The sooner meeting times can be confirmed and signed invitations can be sent back to school, the easier the process will be for everyone involved. Each meeting requires an administrator, regular education teacher, and special needs teacher to attend. Sometimes it can be tricky to find a time to get everyone together at the same time, so the sooner we can plan meetings the better. As always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by a note sent by your child, visiting school, e-mailing, or phoning. Our schoolwide theme for the year is "Let's Get Growing." My classroom is decorated with beautiful flowers that serve as a constant reminder of how hard work during the growth process can yield unbelievable results. Let's do the same this school year by together working hard to maximize student growth and yield unbelievable results come June! Best regards. Mrs. Benson
