Culinary Arts I

Explain Course Syllabus and Competencies

Use Competencies's sections Exxamining Safety and Sanitation, Serving in the Dining Room, and Purchasing and Receiving Goods to list duties to be fulfilled to manage care and operation of the kitchen and classroom.

Use Competencies' sections Applying Food-Prepartion Techniques, Preparing Garde Manger, and Learning Baking Fundamentals to make a suggested list of potential foods to be prepared for sale after learning to prepare. 

Demonstrate reading and writing skills. Use the Roanoke Times Classified Jobs section to complete Writting A Request.

Demonstrate listening and speaking skills. Speak to share your strenghs and weaknesses referring to Learning Skills.

Demonstrate math skills. Complete Recipe Modification and take the preview math test for entrance to Culinary Institute of America.



Teen Living

Explain Course Syllabus and Competencies

Demonstrate reading and writing skills. Read the workplace readiness skills. Select one of the 13 skills, write the skill, your name and one idea of your strength or weakness using that skill. Pass the page you designed until everyone in the class has signed and written about their strength or weakness using that skill.

Demonstrate listening and speaking skills. Take turns speaking and listening as each student analyzes and summarizes the classes' ability with each of the workplace readiness skills.

Demonstrate math skills. Complete measuring worksheet.
