We have started our first unit, short stories.  We have also had our first literature quiz and a literary term quiz. The general procedure is that we read the story together and after discussion, students take a quiz.  They are allowed to use their literature books on the quiz.

  Students should have a folder in my classroom which is for their warm-ups and reader's reflections.  I do not issue books as I do not assign homework from the book and all reading is done in class.

 Our first book report will be due on October 15th.  Format sheets have already been given out.  Please ask your student if he/she has finished his/her book and started on the book report.

Interims went home Wednesday, Sept 23rd.  Interims should have been signed  and returned.  If you have any questions about your child's grade, please contact me by e-mail or by calling me at 554-8440. 

  We have also started our vocabulary work.  The general procedure is as follows:

Tues--flashcards due
Wed--write the word once and definition three times
Thurs--sentences due
Fri--vocab quiz/new words given out
