Good Evening, Parents and Students,

This is the tenth week of school.  Monday is a Purple Day, Tuesday is a Gray Day, Wednesday will be a Purple Day, and so on.

Please make sure your child HAS the (ISN) spiral, scissors, glue, colored pencils, pencil sharpener, blue pens, black pens, and textbook with them when they have my class.  

This week we will finish Government and Economy and begin North Africa and Southwest Asia.  This week is the beginning of a new nine-week period.  The students first grade for this nine weeks is the Openbook Quiz over government and economy.  They should master the concept of government, the two types of government and the kinds of government that fall under the two types, as well as economy and the 4 types of economy.  We have already done some notes in the ISN on these concepts.  We will also do some role-playing and games to enhance their knowledge of government and economy.  The students will have a Common Assessment over these concepts so you may want to have them review their notes.

I will be sending home the Family Workbooks from Kids2College and a permission slip you may sign if you would like for your child to participate and go on the field trip in January to UofH's main campus.
